Wooow...

That day was just plain amazing... Loads of cool coreos by Gina and Tanya. Great atmosphere and a huge bunch of happy dancing people. Met some old friends and hopefully got some new ones as well. Could it be better? Nope, don't think so, as I sad earlier, just plain amazing...

And finally I got this somewhat personal but great compliment from Tanya about my smile.... So I guess I will be smiling from ear to ear a few days now....

And here is a few more pictures of the advent and some all the new people I meet who is now a friends with me on facebook. And lets just hope all this guys will be even more that just facefriends :) In life you can never have to many friends right! :)

But we also got information that there will be a ZINday in Sweden in late November. Who knows what will happen in Stockholm that day in late November, but one thing is surten, it will be loads of fun and wild dansing :)

Fast moving week

This week I have had a lot to do, mainly learning some new Zumba moves, building more of the infernal cobblestone wall and making 5 liters home made 92% liquor as a gift to my friends 30th birthday....  And I'm going there to celebrate in just a few hours.

Since my home made 92% is famous among my friends and relatives for being of very good quality, that was what he wanted for his birthday gift.

Not such a good picture, but one can faintly see that the percentage landed roughly around 92%, as it usually does. Making liquor in ones home is forbidden in Norway, but I really think that's wrong since it has been a tradition for centuries to do so up here in the middle of Norway, Anyway I only make a few bottles every year and mostly give them away for Christmas or birthdays, and I actually don't see the big harm in doing that.

And the cobblestone wall is coming along, all though rather slowly :(

A great movie

A movie recommended by Jack Morten

The Veteran is an remarkably well made English movie, definitively worth your time.

 A soldier returning from the war in Afghanistan uncovers a conspiracy involving the intelligence services and a gang of drug dealers. The story is kind of standard "crime and lone wolf hero" but is as I previously stated incredibly well made.

Tonight I thought I should just put together some nice pictures I have collected over the last years.

Once again a picture from my favorite place in the world. Horseid beach in Lofoten. This place is just more than beautiful. The only way to get there is by foot, horse or boat.

This picture is of a really big cod I stole from a seal last year. The story is kind of weird and amazing. I was kayaking and a seal was playing with a big fish about a 100 meters ahead. When it saw me it forgot about the fish which was damaged and didn't manage to get back in the deep. 


Well.. I paddled very quick over to the fish and grabbed it before the seal understood what happened. It got kind of annoyed because it followed us for about 15 minutes and was making loud irritated noises... Wow.. once in a lifetime experience....

This is taken two years ago, after a near death experience. I was kayaking alone in the Norwegian sea, far above the Arctic circle and while being a little unconcentrated my kayak went around and the kayak type I used for this trip is not of the ones you can just turn around and get the water out off by yourself. About 20-25 minutes later I managed to get up at a beach and after a few minutes I fell asleep totally exhausted. The water temp was about 8 degrees Celsius and I had only a very thin wetsuit (yes it was stupid). Took this picture when I woke up, just happy to be alive actually :)

Norway and its innocence - I think this article say a lot so I wanted to just post it here at the blog, it does point out a lot of the "Norwegian way". I have only added the pictures to the article.

If the bomb blast in Oslo turns out to be a terror attack, it will mark a 9/11 moment for Norway.

Norway has never previously been subjected to serious terrorist attacks.
This is not because the country has been particularly good at protecting itself; rather, it is because it has stayed away from international conflict.

Though a long-standing NATO member, Norway has only recently increased its involvement in military missions in countries such as Afghanistan or Libya.
Consequently, its foreign policy has not made the country many enemies, with Norwegian diplomats often citing the country's commercial whaling as the most controversial issue they have to deal with.

Norway is an incredibly open society.
The Royal Family is free to move about with limited security, both in the nation's relatively small and peaceful cities, as well as on holiday in the mountains or on the coast.
The country's politicians and business leaders mix freely with ordinary people in a manner rarely seen elsewhere in the world.



Few people have secret addresses and telephone numbers - open the phonebook online and you will find links not only to aerial shots of people's houses and maps of where they live, but also details about their email addresses and their place of work.
This is a society where top politicians, business executives and other celebrities often include their private telephone numbers and home addresses on their business cards.
Even their salaries and the size of their fortunes are made public by the tax authorities once a year, only to be plastered all over the newspapers.
Local newspapers do the same with small-town politicians, local shopkeepers and amateur sports people. The public is free to use the taxman's online search engine to snoop on friends and neighbours' financial affairs.

The post, which in the UK tends to be shoved through the front door, is normally placed in unlocked post boxes outside people's homes, making it easy for anyone with criminal intent to intercept anything from bank statements to medical records.

To the outside world, the lives lived by Norway's people, both the elite and ordinary folk, may seem naive.
Though up to now they have not seen any reason to protect themselves.
Like Sweden before the murder of Prime Minister Olof Palme in 1986, the Norwegian people have collectively resisted any calls for greater home security.

To them, living in an open society has been not just a privilege, but also a statement to the rest of the world; a display of how it is possible to live together in peace.
Such feelings were voiced after the Norwegian publisher of Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses, William Nygaard, was shot and wounded outside his home in Oslo in 1993, after Ayatollah Khomenei issued a fatwa against him.
At the time, the political and intellectual elite stressed the importance of resisting the temptation to respond to the fear as it quickly spread through the population by raising the barriers and increasing the intolerance of those from the world outside.

They may well do so again now, though this time might be different.
Norway's attitude to risk might now change, quickly and dramatically, as private individuals withdraw and as central authorities bolster security.

If so, a possible goal of the attackers may well have been achieved, in that they have robbed Norway of its innocence.

Wow.... Then little peaceful Norway got on the terrormap to.... I have sad to my friends so many times that I would never live in Oslo because of all the violence and crime and ghettos of people from cultures who don't share and most important don't respect the Scandinavian way and culture....

And that makes me a little sad, because our way of life is good... We have more or less peace and respect  among us and a society that is genuinely friendly. And I don't think I'm bias in saying that, because I have lived in a lot of different countries and continents and have  over time gotten to learn some other cultures quite well.

But even among native norwegians there are some people with extreme views and the suspect perpetrator of the bombing seems to be an 32 year old Norwegian right wing nationalist.

Meat/spinach burgers and some ecological milk

Yesterday I made two burgers for a late dinner. After going to two Zumba classes you want to make something tasty and quick when you get home late in the evening.

 

First I got some pesto, onion rings and a mix of mustard and honey on the bread. And the burger bread is a coarse flour and fiber-rich type.


Then I put loads of fresh spinach leaves and cheese on it. And of course some pepper and some turmeric. The combination of pepper and turmeric is proven scientifically to prevent some types of cancer.

My two cats got some food to, though the one to the left don't eat that much, and was a Christmas gifts from my mother a few years ago. But I put it next to where pus eats, I thought it would be nice for him to have company when he eats :)  

A psychologist would probably give me a diagnosis for thinking like that right! ;-)

The Thing (The Prequel) is about some scientists who discover something ALIEN at a dig in Svalbard. (The Norwegian territory almost next to the North pole)



The picture bellow is from The Thing 2, a  movie who was planed but never happened, but the picture do actually reminds me a little of my x-mother in law... And that was a very scary woman, I'm not kidding, she truly was.

Leviathan Wakes

A book recommended by Jack Morten

Just finished Leviathan Wakes by James Corey, and it was more then amazing, could not stop reading. I think this is at least as good as "Old Mans War" and "The Saga of The Seven Suns"...




And I really recommend it :) 

(And have I ever recommended something bad? Don't think so ;)

Falling Skies from Steven Spielberg is a must if you like the more apocalyptic science-fiction genre....

What to do if you have a really bad day... Maybe this?

Well... My car went sick  for the first time in 2,5 years since I bought it. And since I live outside of Trondheim and not in the center of the city it have a big effect on my daily activity's

Taking bus to and from my home and workplaces usually is pretty boring and takes a lot of time.... Sundays are even worse... there is only 2 buses passing my home on Sundays, and since the guy or lady who put together the buss schedule probably was drunk doing it, he or she made the two buses go the same way..... yep, that's right.... 

You can get to my house but you cant get away....!!!
 
Anyway I seem to have lost a friend to, today because I get a little to emotional when I nip to beverages with alcohol in them. Mobiles should have an "alcolock" right?.... So all in all a BAD day

And did I mention that nobody, ciro... Came to my pump and spinclasses to day AND that I made the alarm in the big mall where I work go off by accident!

Went for a walk at the seaside in Trondheim yesterday, and found this marvelous boats not far from the railway station.

This is an old wooden ferry, and if you have more spare time then you can use and need a hobby!!! It's for sale ;)
